Luke Dubyah is a name many Bournemouth clubbers will be familiar with as he's been spinning quality tunes in the town for over a decade now plus his Thursday night Fire FM radio show... He's also one of the DJs for our electro house room two Yakuji Love concept. We caught up with him in advance of Slinky's Summer Bank Holiday party where Marcel Woods and guests will be taking over the Opera House.
1. Thanks for agreeing to being interviewed by Slinky. You’re DJ’ing for us at the Opera House which has recently been completely re-furbished and upgraded. If you were to re-furbish yourself what would you change about yourself and why?
Just your usual super hero stuff really, I’d love to be able to fly and have super hearing and x-ray vision. Was that supposed to be a serious question?
Oh, ok… umm.. maybe my feet? I had this weird illness at the start of the year and my feet are still a bit ropey – I’d fix that.
2. We’re just about to see the start of the 2008 Olympics. Is there any sport you’d like to see sanctioned to become part of the 2012 events when it comes to Britain?
Its got to be Welly wanging, that’d be amazing!! To see dead pan TV presenters having to describe their technique n stuff, haha. WELLY WANGING FOR 2012!!!!
3. The World is currently in the middle of a credit crunch. If you were in charge of the World for one day what rules would you bring in to make clubbers lives easier?
Free 24hr public transport, I know its lame, but it’d be so cool if no-one ever had to worry about getting home safely n stuff, plus it’d be really good for the planet.
4. Could you give us a typical rundown of your day to day life so the Slinky clubbers can get a better idea about you?
Typical day, what’s one of those? Most days will be spent at a PC screen in some way,
I do a lot of internet stuff as well as my Djing, Production and the radio show on Fire.
5. And now the plug section. Feel free to tell us about any news or forthcoming releases that the clubbers and other DJs might be interested in.

Luke Dubyah + Chris Bailey “Electronic Sunshine” - we’ve signed it to a big NY record label for global release before the end of the summer.
Luke Dubyah vs PointA “Floordance EP” – this tracks gone nuts!! It’s been played from Serbia to Sydney and everyone loves it! We’re finishing off the B side right now for release on PointA Records. If the boss lets us, we’ll be filming a video for Floordance on the bank holiday so look out for that too.
6. Finally, what can the Slinky crowd expect from you on Friday the 22nd of August at the Opera House?
It’s my birthday so it’ll probably be something like this…
Uncle jack, tune, tequila, wave my arms in the air, tune, tequila, tune, tune, jump up and down a bit, uncle jack, tune, floordance, tune, tequila, tune… then maybe… naked racing on the beach… umm… long story… ask me about it after a few tequilas… ?
